‘Once a Marine – always a Marine’

Bold, yet rings true for Dr. Peter Theodorou, DMD, MS, former Marine and successful New York City orthodontist.

(HealthNewsDigest.com).. Serving his country as an enlisted Marine Sergeant, Dr. Peter Theodorou now acts as the Director of Operations for the “Marines Helping Marines” program in New York City. Aside from his practice, Dr. Theodorou donates his time and energy to coordinate community organized care packages for wounded and recovering Marines in the surgical ward at the Bathesda Naval Hospital in Maryland. Dr.Theodorou donates all dental hygiene products that have become a much-needed everyday necessity at the hospital.Community donations from the surrounding NYC area have helped as well, adding a special touch to the package to include DVD movies, t-shirts, pajamas, stationary, phone cards and much more. Once the package is ready, all donations are then routed to a distribution center in New Jersey, assembled and then personally delivered by a Marine or member of the Marine Corps League to the Besthseda Naval Hospital twice a week.

According to Dr. Peter Theodorou, “The appreciation from these young men for our support is overwhelming. Aside from the materials and supplies funded by community donations, the morale boost given to them holds true meaning to these visits.”
